SOUTH DAYTON: Daniel M. Bolles, 68, of First Street, South Dayton, died Wednesday, August 4th, at Buffalo General Hospital. He was born in Buffalo on March 1, 1942, the son of the late D. Earl and Esther A. (Pape') Bolles.
He was in the first graduating class of Kenmore West High School, in 1960 and served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. Mr. Bolles worked as a Press Operator for Webber-Knapp Co. Jamestown, for 30 years, he also worked for many years as a Police Officer for the Town of Ellington. Mr. Bolles was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fredonia, where he was currently serving as head trustee, was a life member of both South Dayton & Ellington Fire Departments, was a Past Commander & current Chaplain for the South Dayton American Legion Post #1593, was a Past Cattaraugus County Legion Commander, was President of Cattaraugus-Allegany Joint Veteran's Council, was a Life member of Pine Valley Memorial VFW Post #2522, was a member of Chautauqua County Fire Police Association, was a Past Assistant Fire Chief with South Dayton Fire Department, where he was currently Fire Police Lieutenant and sang with the Pine Valley Community Choir for many years. Mr. Bolles was passionate about achieving rights for Veterans and loved golf, card games & his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Ruth-Elaine (Franke) Bolles of South Dayton, whom he married on May 27, 1967, in the Town of Tonawanda, two daughters, Kimberly A. (Wade) Levan, of Dunkirk, Kerri E. (Tim) Wilke, of South Dayton, three sons Daniel C. Bolles, of South Dayton, James M. Bolles, of Jamestown, Aaron M. (Michelle) Bolles, of Alden, four sisters, Constance (Robert) Hummel, of Kenmore, Janet Widmann, of Vero Beach, FL, Judi (Scott) Hall, of Batavia, Carol (Daniel) Schrantz, of Williamsville, three brothers, Donald (Anne) Bolles, of Melissa, TX, Richard (Joanne) Bolles, of Henderson, NV, and John (Liz) Bolles, of Portland, OR. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Megan & Matthew Levan, Jillian & Joshua Bolles, & Addison Bolles and several beloved nieces & nephews.
Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville today from 4-8 pm. Members of South Dayton Fire Department will conduct a Fireman's Service at 7 o'clock this evening in the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held from St. Paul Lutheran Church, 334 Temple Street, Fredonia, at 10 o'clock Saturday morning, with Rev. William Novack, pastor officiating. Interment will be in St. Matthews Cemetery, North Tonawanda, NY at 2 o'clock, where graveside military services will be held.
